Jinx Bee Legal
Jinx Bee Privacy Policy
Effective: August 29, 2026
Jinx Bee is a word-association game from BeePresent. This policy explains the information Jinx Bee collects, why we use it, when it is shared, and how you can make choices about it. It covers the web app, progressive web app, and native iOS app. A feature described here only applies when it is available and you use it.
Jinx Bee is designed for a general audience age 13 and older. Contact info@beepresent.co with privacy questions.
Information We Collect
Player identity and contact information
You can start the native iOS app without signing in. The app creates a local player identity and stores a server-issued credential on that installation. If you later add a recoverable sign-in method, we may collect an email address, phone number, authentication-provider identifier, and related authentication records.
We also create or store a player ID, display name, avatar, friend code, settings, account status, and records needed for account recovery, linking, reset, and deletion.
Gameplay, social activity, and user content
We collect information needed to run and protect the game, including:
- Puzzle progress, guesses, submitted words, scores, streaks, match results, timers, game history, and Daily archive activity.
- Honey balances and ledger activity, Bee progression, badges, entitlements, and reward events.
- Multiplayer games, invitations, turns, reminders, friend relationships, blocks, reports, and related notifications.
- Display names, avatars, friend codes, submitted words, feedback, support requests, safety reports, and other content you choose to provide.
- App version, platform, device or browser details, IP address, request and error logs, performance information, and security or rate-limit signals.
Private direct messaging and restricted social word-cloud surfaces are not available in the iOS 1.0 release. If those features are added later, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before they are made available.
Purchases
Native iOS Honey purchases use Apple In-App Purchase. We receive information needed to validate, fulfill, restore, audit, and reverse purchases, including product ID, transaction and original transaction identifiers, purchase date, signed StoreKit transaction data, fulfillment status, restore history, refunds, and the player identifier used to associate a transaction.
Jinx Bee iOS 1.0 offers four consumable products. US launch prices are shown below; Apple may display a local price and currency in other storefronts.
- Small Jar: 200 Honey for $2.99.
- Jar: 500 Honey for $6.99.
- Big Jar: 1,000 Honey for $9.99.
- Huge Pot: 5,000 Honey for $29.99.
Each product includes consumable Honey and a permanent Plus bonus while at least one qualifying purchase remains valid. Plus unlocks the puzzle archive. A restore can grant Plus to a current player identity, but it does not credit the original consumable Honey again.
Push notifications
If you enable notifications, we collect a push token or subscription endpoint, platform and permission state, and delivery or error records. Notifications are used for Jinx Bee game activity, such as invitations and turn reminders, not third-party advertising.
Analytics and diagnostics
Optional product analytics starts only after you make an explicit choice to allow it. Before consent, the analytics provider is not initialized and Jinx Bee does not send analytics events to it. If you decline or later turn analytics off using Menu → My Hive or your player-name row → Account → Product Diagnostics, analytics event collection remains disabled.
If you open a U.S.-targeted campaign link, Jinx Bee may retain the link's standard campaign labels—source, medium, campaign, content, and term—for that browser tab and attach them to game-start and game-completion service records to measure outreach. Advertising click identifiers are discarded, campaign information is not returned to advertising platforms, and PostHog receives campaign labels only after you allow Product Diagnostics.
When allowed, analytics may include event names, screens or flows used, app version, platform, device or browser metadata, coarse timing, feature settings, errors, and a player or device identifier. Jinx Bee does not send raw game words, purchase identifiers, email addresses, or phone numbers to PostHog.
We use analytics to understand onboarding, gameplay health, crashes, performance, and whether features work. We do not sell analytics data, use it for third-party advertising, or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
AI-assisted game features
Some features use AI providers to generate or validate game words, explanations, images, or related game content. We may send limited game context such as player words, Bee words, puzzle constraints, safety rules, and generated output. We do not intentionally send contact information, payment information, or authentication credentials to AI providers.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and maintain player identities, recoverable accounts, profiles, settings, and recovery options.
- Run Daily, Bee, multiplayer, invitation, notification, purchase, and restore flows.
- Validate purchases, grant Honey and Plus, prevent duplicate fulfillment, and process refunds or revocations.
- Filter content, respond to reports, prevent abuse and fraud, and keep the service secure.
- Respond to support and privacy requests.
- Diagnose bugs, measure product health after consent, and test releases.
- Measure U.S. campaign reach using limited link labels on game-start and game-completion records.
- Meet legal, accounting, tax, platform, safety, and App Store obligations.
How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to operate Jinx Bee, provide a feature you choose to use, protect users, or comply with law. Service providers may include hosting, database, authentication, Apple payment, analytics, AI, push notification, media, email, support, security, and operational providers acting on our behalf.
Other players may see information you choose to make visible, such as your display name, avatar, friend code, multiplayer activity, invitations, or words submitted to a shared game.
We may disclose information in response to valid legal process, to enforce our terms, to protect users or BeePresent, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger or sale.
Retention and Account Deletion
Both recoverable accounts and automatically created local iOS player identities can be deleted inside the app without sending an email or contacting support. Open Menu, choose My Hive or your player-name row, expand Account, choose Delete player account & data or Delete account, type DELETE, and confirm. See the account deletion page for details.
Deletion removes or anonymizes the profile, progress, gameplay history, social relationships, push tokens, user content, analytics identity, and other per-user records. It also requests deletion or suppression of known analytics-provider and hosted-media records. Your Jinx Bee account deletion completes even if one of those providers is temporarily unavailable. In that case, only the provider identifiers needed to finish erasure are encrypted in a restricted retry record, the failure is alerted, and automated retries continue until the provider cleanup succeeds. Those retry identifiers are then erased.
Deletion forfeits unused Honey and gameplay history. We retain only records needed for shared game integrity or legal, payment, refund, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, abuse-prevention, and platform obligations. Those retained records are pseudonymized and are not used to rebuild the deleted profile. Backups and operational logs expire on their normal retention schedules.
After deletion, restoring a qualifying Apple transaction may grant Plus to a newly created player identity. It never restores the deleted profile, gameplay history, social data, or the original consumable Honey.
Reset this device is separate from account deletion. It revokes the credential on that installation and clears local app state, but it does not run the account-deletion pipeline.
Your Choices
- Allow, decline, or later disable optional analytics using the Product Diagnostics control in the in-app Account section.
- Enable or disable push notifications in the app and iOS Settings.
- Edit available profile and gameplay settings.
- Use report and block controls where social interaction is available.
- Use Restore purchases to restore eligible Plus access without duplicating Honey.
- Delete a recoverable account or local iOS player identity inside the app.
- Request privacy help at info@beepresent.co.
Teens and Children
Jinx Bee is intended for people age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We use content safeguards for generated and submitted game words. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact info@beepresent.co so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No online service can guarantee complete security. Keep your device, sign-in method, and recovery options secure.
Changes
We may update this policy as Jinx Bee changes. If a change is material, we will update the effective date and provide notice where required.
